High‑contrast colour pairs that work !
Use these as your main workhorses:
Black text on yellow background
Yellow text on black background
White text on dark blue (navy) background
White text on dark green background
Black text on white background
White text on deep red background
Avoid:
Medium tones on medium tones (e.g., mid‑green on gray).
Colours that match the environment: lots of green will vanish against grass/trees.
Pastels and very light text on light backgrounds.
General rule: if you squint and the words don’t clearly “pop” as blocks, contrast is too low.
